LIBYAN DESERT GLASS

Impact glass, not tektite.
Formed by a large impact some 30 millions ago somewhere in the Sahara, but found only in the Great Sand Sea in the South-West corner of Egypt.

Rarely cut because it is glass and very fragile. From Alain Carion Collection.
