ZACATECAS (1792)
This large iron might have originally weighted as much 1000 kilos and might have been known since the 1500s when the area around the town of Zacatecas, central Mexico, was prospected and mined for silver very early.
The main mass is now in Mexico City and weighs 780kg, so much was cut and distributed to Museums and collections through the years.
Classified as an Anomalous, Ungrouped, Polycrystallized Iron.
